Farewell to Felix Caster and Max Werleman
After loyally working for respectively 15 and 25 years for Arubus, Mr. Felix Caster and Mr. Max Werleman are leaving the company with a well deserved pension. A dinner was held on November 9, 2007 at the Driftwood Restaurant in order to celebrate 25 years of service at Arubus for Ms. Felia Fingal, Mrs. Lucresia "Wina" Maduro-Angela and Mr. Wiliam "Koen" Werleman. Present were also their family and colleagues who enjoyed a delightful dinner.
25 Years Celebration for Franky, Rosendo and Hose
A dinner was held on June 1st, 2007 at the Chef's Table Restaurant in order to celebrate 25 years of service at Arubus for Mr. Franky Kuipery, Mr. Rosendo Maduro and Mr. Hose Leest. Present were also their respective wives and colleagues who enjoyed a delightful dinner. A certificate was given to each to honor their 25 years of service at Arubus. Mr. Hose Leest also held a brief reunion at the Arubus conference room to celebrate his 25 years of service.

Pension Plan Contract A.P.F.A./Arubus N.V.
Finally after 25 years of existence of our company, a Pension Plan for all employees became a reality. APFA (Algemeen Pensioenfonds Aruba) is the entity that will take care of the Pension Plan contracts for the employees of Arubus. The official signing of the contract took place on November 24th, 2006 at the Arubus Conference Room. Present were the members of A.P.F.A., staff of Arubus, and a shop steward of SEPPA.
Promotion Transportation Department
Mr. Albert Canhigh who is leading the Transportation Department for 2 years already has been promoted to Head of Transportation Department as of November 1, 2006. We want congratulate Mr. Canhigh with his promotion and wish him a lot of success with his new career.

Highest top of the building construction reached at New Bus Station Oranjestad
On September 26, 2006 Arubus celebrated the reach of top of the building construction "spantenbier" of the new bus station at Oranjestad. Amongst the invited guests were the Minister Of Tourism and Transportation Mr. Edison Briesen, Members of the Aruban Parliament, Board Members of Arubus, staff and employees of Arubus, developers of the Bus Station Project and staff and employees of Nayo Construction.
Connexxion celebrates 125 year of existence
At the Noordwijk Space Expo our friends from Connexxion B.V. (Holland) celebrated their 125 years of existence. Present among the guests were Mr. Frido Croes (Minister of Aruban Government Affairs), Mr. Eric D'Arnault (Board Member Arubus) with his distinguished wife and other representatives of the Aruba Tourism Authority Europe.

On August 15, 2006 Arubus and Thiel Corporation celebrated the reach of top of the building construction "spantenbier" of the new bus station at San Nicolas. Amongst the invited guests were the Minister of Tourism and Transportation, some of the Members of the Aruban Parliament, Staff and Employees of Arubus and Thiel Corporation and the public of San Nicolas. Entertainment was in the hands of Le Groove band.
Farewell to Eziquiel Odor
Mr. Eziquiel Odor after 12 years loyally working for Arubus is leaving the company with a well deserved pension. A celebration was held in honor of "Esi" at the Arubus Main Office. Present amongst the guest were Eziquiel and his family, Staff and Employees of Arubus.
Introduction of new Yutong bus to the press
On August 3, 2006 was a press conference held at the Meeting room of Arubus for the introduction of the new Chinese Yutong bus. Members of the press got a briefing from the director Mr. Franky Kuiperi and also the opportunity to take a ride on the bus.
Executives of Arubus visit the Connexxion Academy in The Netherlands
During June 2006 Mr. Albert Canhigh (Transportation Dept.) and Mr. Henny Orman (Technical Dept.) attended an extensive training at the Connexxion Academy in The Netherlands. Mr. Canhigh visited the Logistics and Development Division for Public Transportation at the Connection facilities in Hilversum. Mr. Orman visited the Maintenance Division of Technoservice Nederland which is the company that handles the maintenance of the Connexxion fleet.
Farewell to Henry Amaya
After 23 years of loyal service, Mr. Henry Amaya is leaving Arubus with a well deserved pension. Henry was an exceptional bus driver and was always cooperative to the Transportation department. On July 28th, family, friends and colleagues were present at the Arubus main office to say farewell to Henry Amaya.
Advance Technical Course for the Technical Department
During June 2006 our Technical department employees attended a very intense course "Toegepaste Electrotechniek en Electronica". The course was given by Mr. Jan Teuling of Techno Service Nederland. Course was provided in cooperation with Connections B.V. which is one of the biggest transportation company in The Netherlands.
Arrival of Yutong Bus from China
Finally the Chinese brand Yutong bus has arrived to the garage of Arubus. The colors of the bus are very nice and also eye-catching. The interior seems to be of a very good quality. The engine is a Cummings diesel engine together with a Voith transmission, which are very well known in the bus industry.
Farewell to Rafael Hodge
After 15 years of loyal service, Mr. Rafael Hodge is leaving the company. Mr. Hodge worked as Service Leader at the Transportation Department. Family, colleagues and friends were present at the Arubus main office to say goodbye to Mr. Hodge.
Official signing of the new Collective Labor Agreement Arubus N.V. / S.E.P.P.A.
On Tuesday May 16, 2006 at the conference room of Arubus took place the official signing of the new "C.A.O." (Collective Labor Agreement) between Arubus and SEPPA for the period of 2006 to 2008. Present during the signing were the representatives of SEPPA (Magaly Brito and Edmundo Marlin), the staff of Arubus (Franklin Kuiperie, Felia Fingal, Albert Canhigh, Daniel Clement, Henny Orman and Randy Chai) and the Shop stewards of SEPPA (Giovanni Webb, Felix Caster, Leonardo Rasmijn ,Harold Tromp and Rufino Bremo).
A very important point in this new "C.A.O." is that finally a new pension plan agreement has been settled for the employees of Arubus which will start on June 1, 2006. The pension plan will be handled by the "Algemeen Pensioenfonds Aruba' (A.P.F.A.) which is the General Pension Fund of Aruba.

Press Conference Introduction to new busses
On April 26, 2006 there was a press conference held for the introduction to the new busses to the public. Members of the local press were present as well as the board of directors of Arubus. There was a small ceremony held where Father Bouwman had blessed the busses, and also Mrs. Olivia Benschop and Mr. Eric D'Arnault, both members of the board of directors, did the official start of the busses.

Arubus received four new Volvo busses on March 27, 2006 and three new Blue Bird busses on April 6, 2006
These new busses will be on the road very soon.
Farewell to Ireno "Moses" Rasmijn
Mr. Ireno Rasmijn after 25 years loyally working for Arubus is leaving the company. Ireno is one of the first drivers of Arubus since the beginning of the company's operation in 1979.
Management of Arubus together with Ireno Rasmijn and wife had a pleasant farewell lunch at Kowloon Restaurant. Ireno received a goodbye gift from the staff and employees of Arubus as a thank you for his loyal service during his working years.
Official Property land transfer of the Arubus Main Building
Finally after 25 years the property land of the Arubus main building is officially transferred to Arubus N.V. The transfer documentation took place at Notaris office
Farewell to Ninita
Filomena "Ninita" Kock is leaving the company after working loyally for 15 years with Arubus N.V. Staff and Employees said goodbye to Ninita in the kantina of Arubus
